Supervisor of Elections Alerts Voters to Mailer from Center for Voter Information

Viera, FL – June 19, 2018 – Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott wants voters to be aware of a second mail campaign initiated by the Center for Voter Information (CVI), a voter organization based in Washington, D.C. CVI is a sister organization of Voter Participation Center (VPC) who sent out the first mailer earlier this year.

The address lists for these mailings are frequently created from outdated and often incorrect data with previous mailings resulting in voter registration applications being sent to deceased persons, minor children, and even pets. Mailings have also been sent to voters already registered, which creates unnecessary confusion and concern.

“These unsolicited mailings can prove to be misleading, so it is important for voters to understand if they receive one it does not mean the status of their voter registration has changed,” stated Supervisor Scott. “Voters are encouraged to keep their registration up-to-date and to verify their information before each election cycle.”

The CVI and VPC are registered third-party organizations with the State of Florida. These organizations are not affiliated in any way with the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections office. Voters with questions or concerns regarding these mailings are encouraged to reach out directly to VPC or CVI at 877-255-6750 or by visiting www.voterparticipation.org.

Voter registration status can be verified at www.VoteBrevard.com or by calling my office at 321-633-2124.
