Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott Mails Out Domestic Mail Ballots for the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary

Viera, FL – February 13, 2020 – Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott announced 83,676 domestic mail ballots were sent to voters today for the March 17th Presidential Preference Primary Election. This is in addition to the 2,093 mail ballots previously sent to overseas military and overseas civilian voters.

Supervisor Scott wishes to remind voters that the Presidential Preference Primary is a closed primary and only Republican and Democratic voters are eligible to vote in this election. Additionally, with nine of the 20 presidential candidates already suspending their campaigns after the deadline to withdraw in Florida (December 9, 2019), a large number of candidates with inactive campaigns will still appear on the ballot. “I encourage voters to #BeElectionReady,” said Supervisor Scott. “It’s important to keep your voter record information up-to-date, familiarize yourself with all available methods of voting, and research your presidential candidate selection to ensure they still have an active campaign.”

Voters wishing to track their ballot or confirm they have requested a Mail Ballot can visit www.VoteBrevard.com and select the “My Registration / Mail Ballot Status” at the top of the home page. Voters can also call the Mail Ballot Department directly at 321-633-2127.

The last day for a voter to request a mail ballot be mailed to them is Saturday, March 7, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. Mail ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Sample ballots for the 2020 PPP Election will be mailed to all Democratic and Republican registered voters the week of February 24th and are currently available at www.VoteBrevard.com..
