Pursuant to Florida Law, the Brevard County Canvassing Board conducted a manual audit of election results on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. The manual audit, which requires the random selection of a race and a precinct, was successful and the Canvassing Board reported the election’s accuracy as “excellent” to the Florida Division of Elections.
The Canvassing Board, comprised of Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott, County Judge Kelly McKibben, and County Commissioner Chuck Nelson, also conducted two recounts following the General Election: Viera East Group 5 and Titusville City Council.
“The certification of official results from the General Election ends an extraordinary and successful year for this office,” said Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott. The year included January’s Presidential Preference Primary, Redistricting and Reapportionment, the Primary Election, and the November 6th Presidential Election. Once every 20 years these events fall in the same calendar year.
