Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott Announces the Winners from the “Launch the Vote Student Art Contest”

More than 260 submissions were entered from 12 elementary schools in Brevard County

Viera, FL – October 23, 2018 – Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott recognized the winners of the 5th Annual Launch the Vote Student Art Contest during an awards reception this morning. The winners were then presented with a resolution, sponsored by Commissioner Rita Pritchett, during the County Commission meeting. 

“I am always amazed to see the level of creativity in the artwork submitted by the students showcasing their interest in the electoral process,” shared Lori Scott, Supervisor of Elections. “There was a high-level of excitement during the reception when the winners were presented with medals, ribbons, their certificate, and prizes from our wonderful community partners, Chick-fil-A.”

Last week, Colonel Westanna Bobbit, Judge Kelly McKibben, and Malak Hammad served as judges for the 262 entries from 12 elementary schools. Winners were 1st Place - Ashley Nicole Rogers of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy; 2nd Place – London Olivia Thomas of Longleaf Elementary School; 3rd Place – Anna Livengood of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy; Honorable Mentions were Emmeline Carpenter, Sela Brooke Horgan, Benjamin Pritchett. The Chick-fil-A Award went to Emily Livengood of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy; the Chick-fil-A Honorable Mention was given to Ansleigh Delaine Friday of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy.

Winning artwork will be displayed in the Supervisor of Elections Viera Office for the next year. During the month of November, Chick-fil-A establishments throughout Brevard County will display the artwork of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and the Chick-fil-A Award winner.
