Where can voter registration data be obtained?

Requests for voter registration data can be made online by using the voter registration data request form or by contacting one of our election offices.

Who can acquire registration data?

Anyone can acquire voter registration data.

What data is available?

Voter registration information is public record in Florida with a few exceptions. Information such as your social security number, driver’s license number, Florida ID number, signature, where a voter registered to vote, and where a voter updated a registration cannot be released or disclosed to the public. Other information such as your name, address, date of birth, party affiliation, and when you voted is public information.

Certain voters may be eligible for a public records exemption.

How is the data formatted?

Available file format: All data is delivered by email in comma delimited text format, which can be opened by or imported into many different programs. Certain programs, such as Microsoft Excel, may have limitations which make them usable only for relatively small databases; consult your software documentation for exact limits.

Available filter options: Precinct, district, city, sex, race, party, status, date of birth, registration date, voting history

Available sort orders: Data can be sorted by name, by zip code, or by walking list. Optionally, voters at the same residence address can be combined into one entry, called a household sort.

How do I use the data once I get it?

Manipulation of the data described above requires software which is not provided by the Elections Office. Elections Office personnel can provide only very limited support for questions and problems. It is highly recommended that you consult someone with computer expertise prior to placing your order to determine exactly what hardware, software and data you will need.

Here is an example of how to use the data in Microsoft Excel and Word, although these programs may not be the best to use in all circumstances.

When can map orders be picked up?

Map orders are processed in the order they are received. Pickup times will vary, depending upon how many requests are currently in the queue. Our office claims responsibility for only the precinct boundary information displayed, accurate on the date of the printing.

How much does voter registration data cost?

There is no charge for digital data if the total cost per month is less than $25.  Should charges for digital data exceed the $25 per month complimentary order, payment must be made prior to the release of information. Any outstanding balance must be paid prior to placing a new order. Candidates and political committees must make payment from their campaign or committee account. Incumbent office holders must pay from their office account.

Charges for digital data:

  • Email: Free

Charges for printed maps is as follows:

  • Maps: $10 each
