Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott Mails Out Domestic Mail Ballots for the 2022 Primary Election
Melbourne, FL – July 22, 2022 – Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott announced 141,092 domestic mail ballots were sent to voters yesterday for the August 23rd Primary Election. This is in addition to the 3,787 mail ballots sent earlier this month to overseas military and overseas civilian voters.
“Because of recent legislative changes, I want to be sure voters are aware that after the 2022 election cycle, all mail ballot requests expire,” said Supervisor Scott. “Voters can track the status of their mail ballot on VoteBrevard.gov under the blue “Ballots by Mail” tab.”
Voters wishing to verify they are on the Mail Ballot Request List may do so by clicking on the “Registration Status” quick link at the top of the VoteBrevard.gov home page. The last day for a voter to request a mail ballot be sent to them for the August 23rd Primary Election is 5:00 p.m., August 13, 2022. Due to a recent legislative change, which takes effect on January 1, 2023, voters will now have to renew their mail ballot request annually.
Mail ballot voters have the option to return their ballot through the United States Postal Service or to a secure ballot intake station (formerly known as drop boxes). Secure ballot intake stations are available in the lobby of all four administrative Supervisor of Elections Offices and at all 10 Early Voting sites. Please check VoteBrevard.gov for hours of availability. Mail Ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on Election Night.
Voters who are currently on the mail ballot request list but wish to cancel their request should call the Mail Ballot Department at (321) 633-2127.
“My office remains the trusted source of election related information and I encourage voters to visit VoteBrevard.gov, call 321-290-VOTE (8683), or follow my verified
Facebook and Twitter accounts for election related information,” stated Supervisor Scott.
