Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott is in the process of verifying voter information for each person who has requested a mail/absentee ballot for the 2010 General Election cycle. In an effort to make this process easier for the voter, Supervisor Scott mailed letters to voters last week who have requested a mail/absentee ballot for the August 24th Primary Election but who have not updated their voter registration and/or signature information since 2005.
Per Florida Statute, mail/absentee ballot envelope signatures are verified against the voter’s signature from their current Voter Registration Application on file in the Supervisor of Elections Office.
To update their signature, voters should fill out the new Voter Registration Application enclosed with their letter and return it to any Brevard County Supervisor of Elections office. Applications can also be returned to: P.O. Box 410819, Melbourne, FL 32941-0819. Signature updates received before 5:00 p.m. on August 17th, 2010 can be used for verification purposes for the August 24th Primary Election.
