Candidate qualifying for the 2026 election cycle will take place in the Viera and Titusville administrative offices as follows:
1st Qualifying Period for 2026 – Judicial, County Court Judges:
Noon, Monday, April 20, 2026 – Noon, Friday, April 24, 2026
(Pre-qualifying papers will be accepted beginning April 6, 2026. F.S. 99.061(8) states that qualifying papers may be submitted to the qualifying officer beginning 14 days prior to the qualifying period.)
2nd Qualifying Period for 2026 – County Office and Special Districts:
Noon, Monday, June 8, 2026 – Noon, Friday, June 12, 2026
(Pre-qualifying papers will be accepted beginning May 25, 2026. F.S. 99.061(8) states that qualifying papers may be submitted to the qualifying officer beginning 14 days prior to the qualifying period.)
Procedures for running and qualifying for office in Florida are established by the state election code, Chapters 97 to 106 of the Florida Statutes.
Offices that Qualify with the Florida Division of Elections in Tallahassee:
• Federal, State
• Multi-county
• Multi-county Special District
Offices that Qualify with the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections:
• County
• Single-county District
Each municipality’s City or Town Clerk is the Qualifying Officer for their respective municipal candidates. Contact information for each municipal clerk can be found at the Contact Your Elected Officials section of our website.
