Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott wants to remind Brevard citizens wishing to vote in the upcoming August 30, 2016 Primary Election of the deadline to register to vote, also known as book closing, for this election: Monday, August 1st at 5:00 pm. Voter Registration Applications are available on www.VoteBrevard.com, in all four Election Administrative Offices, and all county libraries. Applications must be received or postmarked by the August 1st deadline.

Supervisor Scott also reminds voters that Florida is a closed primary state. This means, in Primary elections, voters will receive the ballot that corresponds to their political party affiliation on file in the Supervisor of Elections office. The August 1st book closing deadline is the last day for registered voters to change their political party affiliation for it to be effective in the August 30th Primary. Voters wishing to change their political party affiliation may do so by submitting an updated Voter Registration Application.

Supervisor Scott encourages all registered voters to visit www.VoteBrevard.com to verify their registration status and political party affiliation before the August 1st deadline.
