This holiday just got a little brighter for needy families in Brevard. Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott and her staff collected 1,113 pounds of food for WESH 2\'s Share Your Christmas Food Drive, doubling the amount collected last year.

Supervisor Scott and her staff have been collecting donations for WESH 2’s Share Your Christmas food drive each year for the past six years. "I am humbled by the increased support we received this year from our community and fellow county staff," said Supervisor Scott. "The generosity of our county never ceases to amaze me."

Non-perishable food items were collected for one month in all four Election Offices throughout the county. The food was donated during WESH 2’s donation collection event this morning at Alpizar Law Firm in Palm Bay. WESH 2 shares the collected donations with the Second Harvest Food Bank, which works with over 550 grassroots organizations across Central Florida to distribute the food to needy families.
