In addition, the following students received an Honorable Mention: Kellie Ann McCann (H.C. Anderson), Tyler Allen (Sunrise), Alicia Threats-Crawford (Campus Charter School). The six students were formally recognized for their superb artistic talent and enthusiasm for the election process at today’s County Commission meeting with a Resolution presented by Commissioner Chuck Nelson.
The first annual Launch the Vote Student Art Contest was open to Brevard’s 4th and 5th grade students. Participants drew an image in conjunction with the Launch the V ote theme to encourage voter participation for the 2014 General Election. The winners and three Honorable Mentions were selected out of over 400 entries from 21 schools. "We received some amazing artwork! I am incredibly proud of the students and honored to display their inspirational artwork highlighting the importance of voting in the Elections Office," said Supervisor Scott.
In preparation for the November 4th Election, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning art entries will be displayed at all of the Brevard Chick-fil-A locations during October.
