Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott hosted her annual VOTE to End Childhood Hunger Bake Sale and Raffle on May 23rd. This year’s event raised $3,739.04!
Over 100 local businesses donated to the bake sale. Thirteen themed gift baskets, worth an average of $875, were raffled off. In addition to baked goods and coffee, the Elections staff sold their Red, White, & Blue Cookbook. There was also a 50/50 raffle.
“In 2009, my goal was to try and raise a couple hundred dollars for Project Hunger. I am amazed at how far we’ve come! I’m so proud of my staff and the overwhelming generosity of the community who came out to support this event,” said Supervisor Scott.
Since 2009, the Bake Sale and Raffle has raised $20,735.95 to benefit Project Hunger’s Feed and Read program. Feed and Read provides nutritious meals and free books to low income children during the summer months. In the past eight years, Project Hunger has raised over half a million dollars to fight childhood hunger in Brevard.
