Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott announced today the successful completion of voting system testing in preparation for the Presidential General Election on November 6, 2012. Florida Law requires this system review, known as Logic and Accuracy Testing, for machines utilized during the canvass of Mail/Absentee Ballots, Early Voting, and in use at Precincts on Election Day.

The test included 86 units total, including optical scan and ADA compliant touch‐screen devices. Testing lasted approximately 5 hours and was conducted under the supervision of the Brevard County Canvassing Board, comprised of Judge Kelly McKibben, Commissioner Chuck Nelson, and Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott.

“The machines have been tested and are ready for deployment on Election Day,” stated Supervisor Scott.
