Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic Provides Election Related Information for the 2026 Primary Election

Melbourne, FL – July 16, 2026 – The 2026 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 18th, and the deadline to register to vote in this election is July 20th. Voters can visit any of the four administrative offices or go to VoteBrevard.gov to register to vote or update their voter registration. Sample ballots for the Primary Election can be found on VoteBrevard.gov and will be mailed to all registered voters in Brevard.

“As I meet with voters, I stress the importance of being election ready and I encourage them to verify their voter record reflects their current residential address, along with all of their other information. Equally important is ensuring they have a current signature on file,” said Tim Bobanic, Brevard County Supervisor of Elections. “Voters are encouraged to utilize the tools on VoteBrevard.gov, including the ‘Voter Information Lookup’ tab to confirm their polling location has not changed since the last election.”

Voters not already on the mail ballot request list have until 5:00 p.m. on August 6th to request a mail ballot be sent to them prior to the August 18th election. Current requests are valid for one general election cycle and if requested now are good through Dec. 31, 2026. Requests can be made at VoteBrevard.gov, by calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or at any of the four administrative offices. Military and overseas mail ballots were sent out on July 2nd, and the domestic mail ballots are being sent on July 16th.

For voters wishing to return their voted mail ballots, secure ballot intake stations are available in the lobby of all four administrative offices or at any of the 10 Early Voting locations during hours of operation. Please check VoteBrevard.gov for hours of availability. Mail ballots must be received in the Supervisor of Elections Offices by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Early Voting for the August 18th Primary Election will be conducted from Saturday, August 8th through Saturday, August 15th at 10 locations throughout Brevard. As a reminder, voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting site. For locations and hours of operation, select the “Early Voting” tab at the top of the page on the VoteBrevard.gov website.

In the 2026 Primary Election, Canaveral Port Authority District 5 voters will see a Universal Primary Contest on their ballot. Universal primary contests occur if all candidates for an office have the same party affiliation and the winner of the Primary Election doesn’t have opposition in the General Election, then all registered voters can vote in that race in the Primary Election.

“Brevard takes election integrity seriously and has dedicated a page on VoteBrevard.gov to detail the efforts taken to ensure the electoral process is secure and transparent,” said Supervisor Bobanic. “In a busy election year like this, I want to stress to voters that my office is the trusted source for election related information. We encourage all voters to verify information they’ve seen or heard by visiting VoteBrevard.gov, calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or following my verified Facebook and X accounts.”

The Logic & Accuracy Test of the election equipment, conducted per F.S. 101.5612(2), is scheduled for July 28th at the Election Support Center, located at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
