Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic Encourages Voters to Schedule New Requests to Vote-by-Mail

Melbourne, FL – February 17, 2025 – Governor DeSantis has called Special Elections to fill the vacancies in State Senate District 19 and State Representative District 32. The 2025 Special Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1st.

The deadline to register to vote in this election, also known as book closing, is Monday, March 3rd. To register to vote or update voter registration records, voters can visit any of the four administrative offices or go to VoteBrevard.gov.

“At the end of 2024 my office had more than 110,280 mail ballot requests on file but as of January 1st of this year, those requests all expired. As of now, we only have over 2,830 new mail ballot requests on file for elections through 2026. It is important for voters who wish to vote by mail to realize they need to visit VoteBrevard.gov or contact my office if they want to vote by mail in the upcoming elections,” said Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic.

Voters who choose to vote by mail need to put in a new request to receive mail ballots for upcoming elections through 2026. Voters choosing to vote by mail have until 5:00 p.m. on March 20th to request a mail ballot be sent to them prior to the April 1st election. Requests can be made at VoteBrevard.gov, by calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or in-person at any of the four administrative offices. Military and overseas mail ballots were sent out on February 14th and domestic mail ballots are being sent on February 27th.
