Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic Provides Election Related Information for the 2025 Special Primary Election
Melbourne, FL – February 27, 2025 – Governor DeSantis has called Special Elections to fill the vacancies in State Senate District 19 and State Representative District 32. The 2025 Special Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1st.
The deadline to register to vote in this election, also known as book closing, is Monday, March 3rd. To register to vote or update voter registration records, voters can visit any of the four administrative offices or go to VoteBrevard.gov.
“In odd-numbered years, voters aren’t as focused on elections, but this year we have Special Elections being held across the State, including two in Brevard. Since your vote is your voice, it is important for voters to be informed about these elections and to get to the polls and cast their ballot. I encourage Brevard voters to visit VoteBrevard.gov or contact one of our 4 administrative offices for information about the Special Elections,” said Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic.
As of Jan. 1, 2025 all previous mail ballot requests have expired. Voters who choose to vote by mail need to put in a new request to receive mail ballots for eligible upcoming elections through 2026. Voters choosing to vote by mail have until 5:00 p.m. on March 20th to request a mail ballot be sent to them prior to the April 1st election. Requests can be made at VoteBrevard.gov, by calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or in-person at any of the four administrative offices. Military and overseas mail ballots were sent out on February 14th and domestic mail ballots are being sent on February 27th.
For voters wishing to return their voted mail ballots in person instead of via the USPS, secure ballot intake stations are available in the lobby of all four administrative offices or at any of the 9 Early Voting locations during hours of operation. Please check VoteBrevard.gov for hours of availability. Mail ballots must be received in the Supervisor of Elections Offices by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Early Voting for the April 1st Special Primary Election will be conducted from Saturday, March 22nd through Saturday March 29th at 9 locations throughout Brevard. As a reminder, voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting site. For locations, hours of operation, or wait times, select the “Early Voting” tab at the top of the page on the VoteBrevard.gov website.
For voters who choose to vote on Election Day they need to remember to vote in their precinct specific polling location. Assigned precincts can be found on VoteBrevard.gov with the “Find Your Precinct” tab, on a voter information card, or on the sample ballot mailed to each registered voter. There have been some polling location changes so voters are encouraged to verify the location of their Election Day polling place. Polls on Election Day are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All eligible voters in line at their polling place at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote, regardless of the length of the line.
“My office is the trusted source for election related information and all voters are encouraged to verify information they’ve seen or heard by visiting VoteBrevard.gov, calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or following my verified Facebook and X accounts.”
The Logic & Accuracy Test of the election equipment, conducted per F.S. 101.5612(2), is scheduled for March 4th at the Election Support Center, located at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
